“The X-Files Season 12” – Truth or Just a Rumor?

Recently, a piece of news has stirred up the “The X-Files” fan community, claiming that Season 12 of the iconic series will officially premiere in February 2025. According to these reports, the legendary duo Mulder and Scully will return to uncover more FBI mysteries.

However, the truth seems to be different. Fox has never confirmed the return of Season 12, and in reality, after Gillian Anderson announced her departure from the role of Dana Scully following Season 11, series creator Chris Carter stated that he did not want to continue the story without her. This raises a significant question: Would Anderson return? And if not, can “The X-Files” survive without Scully?

Moreover, since Season 11 ended in 2018, there have been no signs that Fox is developing a sequel. That being said, with the enduring appeal of “The X-Files,” the possibility of a reboot or a spin-off in the future cannot be ruled out. But until an official announcement is made by the producers, the news of Season 12 remains a rumor, and fans should be cautious about unverified sources.

Regardless, this situation proves that “The X-Files” remains one of the most beloved TV series of all time, and the desire to see Mulder and Scully return has never faded. But the real question is: Do we truly want a new season without Scully? Or would it be better for “The X-Files” to be reborn with an entirely new direction?
